Robert Vavra is the author of over thirty books and is considered the most important equine photographer in the world. His photographs of horses are works of art that bring the horses' beauty and soul to the observer.
James Michener on Robert Vavra:
"Though Equus has fired the imaginations of painters from the prehistoric hunter - artists of Altamira to Leanoardo Da Vinci, Velasquez, Goya and Picasso, still in the history of photography no cameraman has rescorded the horse with such excitement and personal style as has Robert Vavra. His photographs are works of art; they are interpretations of the horse as perceptive as those done by Stubbs and Remington. They are a joy to see, because they evoke the inner nature of the horse."

We were fortunate enought to meet Robert Vavra in the 1980's at the National Championships in Seville. Over the decades, we became friends with this artist and philosopher.
It has been said that when God created man, he used mud and that when God created horses he used air. You cannot look at a Vavra photograph without knowing this is true.
